    About Dr. Pogue

Dr. Robert PogueDr. Robert Pogue is a Registered Psychologist with 29 years of clinical experience and 11 years of graduate education and training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and depth psychology. Robert's scope of practice includes individual and couple psychotherapy for adults and adolescents. His practice is focused on the treatment of emotional and relational problems (see Treatment Areas) utilizing Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy "ISTDP" psychodynamic and emotion-focused psychotherapy.

Robert has a unique blend of two very different backgrounds. Prior to exploring his passion for psychology and psychotherapy, he accumulated ten years of professional corporate experience as an engineer and manager. While engineering is clearly quite unrelated to psychology, it does provide Robert with first-hand experience of the stresses and strains of corporate life. Additionally, this shift in vocations has provided Robert with the understanding of how life transitions can be difficult yet fruitful periods in one's life.

While Robert is trained and experienced in several different models of psychotherapy including: Jungian (symbolic and imaginal), Rogerian (humanistic or client-centered), and cognitive-behavioral, his primary focus and passion is psychodynamic psychotherapy and emotion focused psychotherapy.
